I won't be placed in bondage of fear!
In light of what has occurred this week in our country (3/8 - 3/14/2020) it is necessary to boldly declare the authority that I have because of the Holy Spirit that lives in me. I won't be placed in bondage of fear, especially when I have already been set free by what Jesus Christ did on the cross. For most of my life I lived in bondage of fear, pride, and selfishness and one day, in October of 2014 He had an encounter with me that changed everything.
This encounter created a hunger for wisdom of biblical truth and Holy Spirit love that burns deep in my soul. I won't be placed in bondage of fear! There must be a "sureness" to our faith that allows us to be bold to declare facts that we believe Jesus Christ will honor and bless. To be bold I must know beyond doubt who God is, what Jesus did, and why I am here for such a time as this. Lets start by reading Romans 8:31-39.
Who is God in this passage? A father, justice, Lord
Who is Jesus Christ in this passage? Sacrificial lamb, destroyed death, sits at the right hand of God, intercedes for those that believe in him
Through Jesus Christ we are connected to the Most High God and nothing can separate us, not even death! What does this mean? The Holy Spirit lives in me because I have chosen to submit my flesh life to His authority. This is not a question of salvation, because we are saved by grace when we decided to believe and verbalize that we believe Jesus Christ is the messiah. The "sureness" of salvation comes with a necessary refining that takes place with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Have you had your encounter? When did you meet Jesus Christ? What was it like? If we are sure of our salvation and of the Holy Spirit being alive in us, then we must learn to follow His lead. Lets read Matthew 8:2-3, Luke 5:12-13, Luke 10:17-19, and Mark 11:22-26.
FACTS:
1. Jesus touched a man to heal him which at the time had a disease that was considered highly contagious and incurable.
2. With the Holy Spirit we can step on snakes and scorpions and they cannot harm us. This is literal, spiritual, and metaphorical.
3. If we have the faith to declare and believe then our petitions shall come to pass but it requires a pure heart
These facts should build a confidence in us that stands as a light on a hill. If Jesus can lay hands on a sick person that was considered unclean, contagious and incurable, then I can heal people from the coronavirus. Then, as long as I do not suppress the Holy Spirit in me I can step on the snake or scorpion called COVID-19 and it cannot harm me. Finally, if my faith is greater than a mustard seed then I can bind this bondage of fear that has come upon the world and send it back to the depths of hell, while we release the joy, peace, and comfort of God upon the nations.
Discussion Points:
1. Are we living a biblical life? Do we believe the Holy Bible is true in every scripture and word? Not just positive prosperity scriptures, but also revelations and judgement for our unwillingness to forgive.
2. Do we agree the Bible is the authority of God and ruler of our lives, even when it contradicts government, experiences, college degrees, mom or dad?
3. Do we seek and listen to biblical instruction from elders, pastors, teachers, prophets, apostles, evangelist or are we blinded by religion and doctrinal differences?
4. Is this Jesus life an every day thing or just a sometimes on Sunday, Easter, and Christmas thing?
5. Do I worship daily, lead my family in communion often, and meditate on God's inspired word regularly?
6. Do we place the blood of Jesus Christ on our physical and spiritual doors daily? On ourselves and anyone God puts on our heart to pray for?
